Hey Ellis, I always wondered how did SLR work, can you explain in a few words? Sometimes I think photographs look more beautiful than seeing thing with bare eyes, or for me, with glasses in front of bare eyes.

So it’s you. Cameras can be briefly catagorized into point-and-shot cameras and SLRs. In a point-and-shot camera, light goes via two separate routes, one to the film or the CCD/CMOS sensor, and another to your viewfinder, so there are exactly to optical systems in a single camera. While in an SLR, there is only one optical system. Manufacturers place a mirror in front of the film or digital sensor, which reflect the light from the lens to your viewfinder when you are composing your photograph through it. And as you shot picture, the mirror lifts upward while the shutter opens to let the light go into the sensor, as a result of which the picture captured in your camera is nearly exactly as what you see from your viewfinder. With an SLR, one great advantage is that you are free to choose different lenses for different needs, and the aperture of the lenses can be made very large, thus the lenses becoming faster.
